My Life at Limbo Academy

Chapter 1-"Come on! We are going to be late to the ships!" I heard my sister yell outside of my room. I slowly opened my eyes, squinting at the sunlight. I sat up, letting the bed sheets expose my tank top. I moved my stiff arms over my head and pulled them upwards, hearing a little pop in my shoulder.  I moved my right arm to the window, pulling back the curtain. I looked out of the window to see the sunrise. Someone knocked at the door. "Get Dressed! The ships are going to leave soon! You still have to eat." My sister's voice was muffled against the door. "She's Lucky,1st year," I thought to myself as I moved the bed sheets aside and stretching my legs out. My legs slowly moved to the wooden floor of my bedroom. As my feet touched the cold wooden floor, I prop my arms to hoist myself up. I slowly walked to the bathroom, turning on the light and turning to the sink, setting the water to warm and splashing my face. I looked into the mirror to see myself, black bags under my eyes that changed to silver, my normal color eyes. I snapped my fingers and the color was now a greenish blue. "Nobody knows about my silver eyes, they are a rare eye color, "  I thought as I walked to my dresser and got jeans, socks, a belt, my binder and my combat boots. I quickly got dressed and looked into the mirror. On a hook was my shirt that every 2nd-year student must wear. I tugged the shirt on and clipped my choker on the slowly changed colors.  I brushed my hair and dragged the bangs to almost cover my right eye. Turning around and pulling the shirt down to expose my shoulder, I could still see the scars from when I was little. I slowly moved my Index finger over the faded red lines. "Come on Max! my sister burst inside of my room, yelling, giving me a small headache.  I walked over to my closet and grabbed my black and red scythe.Pushing a button on the handle, the scythe was now two daggers.I stuffed the daggers into my back pockets. By the time I turned around my sister was walking back out of my room. "Hey, Lilly? Do you know where my-" I started to ask my sister for my scroll as I walked into the kitchen, seeing her sitting on a counter. As I faced her, she threw a white rectangle with a yellow diamond in the middle and curved sides at my face. I caught it with one hand and placed it into its cartage, nodding at Lilly as a thank you. My feet carried me to the counter and I pressed the tea option of the liquid maker and waited, Lilly, took a muffin and started to eat. After a while, the tea was made and into a foam cup. I tapped Lilly's shoulder and walked to the door, she slowly followed behind, locking the door as we both stepped outside. "The walk to the docks is five minutes away and they leave in seven," I say over my shoulder as I turned left to a different road. "Ugggg we've been walking for forever!" Lilly wined as we both crossed a street. "Only a minute left, then we'll be at the docks," I said laughing to myself as we walked. It was quite a nice walk before being stuck in a hunting school for a year. I felt myself getting weak but brushed it aside thinking it was just being nervous. "Hey, Max, long time no see!" a voice said behind Lilly and I as we walked to the ship. I turned around to see a brown haired female walking toward us, her sword strapped around her waist. "Hey Snow!" I yelled, raising my hand waiting for a high five. She returned the hive five and then she side hugged Lilly. "Hey, first year!" She said with playfulness in her voice as the three of us got onto the ship. There was almost no room because of the forth years yelling and running to greet each other. It's almost been twenty minutes and out of the window, the school was coming into view. I heard someone yelling as I turn my head to see Lilly looking out of the window. I sat cross-legged on a seat, looking at my fingertips that were a dim purple. I slowed my breathing and focus on my fingertips as the purple faded away. In the distance, I can hear one of the teachers welcoming the first years and everyone else. I felt someone's hand touch my shoulder, but I didn't look up. "Is everything ok, Max? You seem distance." a deep voice said, and in my mind, I thought who this could be. The stranger moved my legs so they can sit but I only move my legs closer towards my chest. It was one of the teachers who was my mothers best friend and teammate I finally thought after a while. I couldn't say anything so I just nodded, not wanting to trust my own voice. The whole trip I felt sick and now I-I couldn't finish my thought because I felt the whole world was crashing down on top of me. I couldn't hear anything but I felt like I was falling. I looked slightly up to see Red, the teacher, mouth moving but no sound was coming out. I slowly started to fall, my vision was slowing fading. The darkness filled my vision, I slowly closed my eyes, reading to hit the floor. Before I hit the ground, I felt hands grabbing me before I plunged into darkness.

Chapter 2-My whole body hurt. I couldn't move anything or see anything."Max? Are you awake?" I can hear Red's voice with a bit of sadness in his voice. "Is Max okay, sir? "Yeah, she doesn't look so good."Lilly and Snow are here too? I slowly opened my eyes, getting blinded by the lights. I groaned to respond to all three of them. "You're alive!" Lilly shouted as she jumped onto the bed I was resting on, hugging me. "Lilly" Red started "Don't jump onto Max, we don't know what happened." Everyone in the room was dead silent. Two minutes into me just lying here, with wires taped onto my arms, There was a knock at the door. Nobody moved for a moment but Red walked over and opened the wooden door. "Hello, Sir" Red's voice lit up with cheerfulness as he talked with the mysterious man. Lilly, Snow, and myself were silent so we can hear them talk. After a while, Red backed away from the door, holding it so the man can walk into the room. "Headmaster?" Lilly half shouted as the headmaster of Limbo Academy walked into the room. I silently wined as the headmaster looked at me, I could see the sadness on his face."Max's fine, Rigel, she's is slowly healing." Red said, putting his hand on the headmaster's shoulder. Rigel didn't say anything, he just looked in a random place. "Rigel, Max didn't use any energy, I don't even know that she knows," Red said in a whisper as I looked over to Lilly and Snow. "What doesn't Max know?" Lilly asked walking to Red and slightly tugging on his cape. I guess they were talking but I didn't listen, there was a ringing in my head, forcing me to close my eyes because of how powerful it was. Before long, everything became black. "Hello" A slightly Irish voice said but it was heard in all directions. "Who are you?" I asked out-loud to the darkness  Nothing was heard for a minute or two. "Behind you is who I am" The Irish voice said is a felt someone behind me. I quickly grabbed my daggers and turned around, ready for everything. The voice was from a little girl, she only looked six. "Sorry for scaring you! I don't mean any harm!" the young girl said, as I put the daggers back. "My name is Ty, I know you're Max." the little girl introduced herself. Ty floated right in front of where I stood, her hand touched my forehead, it was freezing.  "Remember the word- Magia est Key" Ty said before I jolted upwards to see that I was back in the healing room, everyone's head quickly turned to face mine as I yelled. Ty was sitting at the foot of the bed. Nobody moved as Ty looked around then vanished into a mist. I felt something tracing my neck then I felt it being stabbed. I covered the right side of my neck with my left hand and ran to the bathroom, locking the door behind me. I looked into the mirror, my eyes were back to silver. I dropped my hand from my neck to see black lines inching it's way to my cheek. "It won't go away,. The only way to get rid of it is to learn the power of fighting with different elements." Ty's voice said in my head, as I unlocked and opened the bathroom door. I looked at everyone to see their reaction. Between Red and the headmaster I could see a faint purple mist. I look straight at the Headmaster and said "Show me what this is"

Chapter 3-It's been a whole month and I guess the headmaster is letting me go back to class. I can only go to two of my four classes. Red, who teaches fighting and snow's sister who teaches about weapons. They share the same classroom since its the largest room. "So, we only have five minutes left until Mrs. Bradley needs this room, so you may talk. Also, Max, I need to talk with you at my desk" Red told the whole class, I rolled my eyes and stood up and walked towards the desk. I can hear the whispers of my "classmates" behind my back as I walked. "Yes, sir?" I stood with my arms on Reds desk to support my body. Red's voice was a whisper as he talked, "Max, I'm going on a mission for the headmaster and he wanted me to take you." I just nodded my head in response. "Everyone is looking at us, so just act like I told you that something bad happened, see you after school kiddo," Red said as he sat back in his chair. I turned back around to see everyone looking back, "What," I started "can't I talk to the teacher?" Everyone stared for a moment, then the bell rang and everyone started to leave for the next class. I walked back to my desk and grabbing the book needed for the next class. The whole room was mine for ten minutes, so I walked to a window and sat down looking outside to see the first years playing games or sitting under a tree. I hummed to myself as I watch two first years training in the courtyard. The door to the classroom opened as one of the first years fell to the ground."He didn't even block the attack" I said out loud, and I heard a giggle. "When did you know about fighting and blocking?" a British voice said from the front of the room, then the sound of something being dropped. "Nice to see you too, Mrs.Bradley," I said as I jumped down from the window and started to walk towards my desk. "You know this is an empty classroom for another thirty minutes after Mr.Reds class," I said, grabbing my books and placing them into my backpack. "Yeah, so why are you in here?" Red's voice ranged out as I zipped up my backpack. "Red, it's not even the end of the school hours yet," I said, kinda irritated. Red smiled and walked inside the room. I sighed and grabbed my scroll and found Lilly's contact telling her that I'll be gone for a bit. "I know, but you still gotta goodbye to your team," Red said as three students walked inside the classroom, one is Snow. "Snow, Jack, Mark," I said as they walk in. "Max, you didn't tell us that you're leaving!" Jack wined trapping me in a hug. "Yeah, our team leader," Mark said with sadness in his eyes. I looked down at my feet, nodding at what Mark said and thinking about the fact that I'm leaving the three people I've known from the 2nd day of the first year of Limbo Academy. A hand fell on my shoulder and saw it was Snow. "Hey, I'll lead and take care of Lilly while you're gone," Her voice was soothing as she spoke. "Guys" Red's voice echoed "The headmaster gave yall an extra teammate, He's a third year."  As Red spoke there was a knock at the door and a new student walked in. He had black hair with a purple streak, "Hello, I'm Jay. You four are my teammates, right?" his voice was kinda deep and Snow nodded, walking towards him.  As Snow greeted him, Jack walked up to me cupping his hand around my ear. "He looks like a Ninja" he whispered into my ear and I tried not to laugh. Red sat on the desk in the front of the room, "Ok, Max we gotta go" His voice sounded a bit sad. I hugged my three teammates and walked over to Jay. "Hey, I'm Max, welcome to the team," I said as I side hugged him. He pulled out his scroll and I do the same, tapping the golden diamond in the middle, and a voice said: "Contact added". Jay and I nodded at each other and I walked over to Red. "Ready, I guess," I said not really wanting to leave. We walked to the entrance of the school then stopped, the Headmaster was standing there."Sir, do you want to say anything to Max?" Red asked as he slightly passed him."Max-" the headmaster started "stay safe, you will learn some things about yourself, this will be apart of your grade." I smiled and slightly nodded, I ran to Red that started to walk faster. I turned around and waved at the headmaster. "Come on kid," Red said as he pulled the back of my shirt. I faced forward and fixed my black beanie. "You know, you should be careful, the Headmaster will kill me if something happens to you," Red said as he pulled out a map. "Wha-Why?" I asked looking at Red the to the sky. Red chuckled then said, "Because you're his niece."
